Pineventz.com Photo and Video Social Networking Website's mission is to provide a platform/forum for individuals that want to share their photos and videos of occasions to friends and families both at home and across the world. People can record memories, important milestones such as weddings and organise reunions with long lost relatives or school friends.  The idea is a mash up of an interactive online calendar, diary and photo album, providing a vibrant, colourful representation of each user’s life.

PinEventz is looking to raise $50,000 in its campaign for further development of the free website. We have managed to re-connect families across the world, helped people organise fundraising events and made sure individuals did not miss out on significant family events such as the birth of a grandchild or the throwing of a hat at a graduation, simply because of geographic location.  We want to ensure we can carry on enriching family life with this ability to share photographs, videos, music and text for a true interactive experience that is almost as good as being there in person.  We want to develop and improve PinEventz to make sure we offer the ultimate social experience. 

Your contribution to help us fund this project will be really appreciated in helping the further devolvement of the PinEventz website and continuity of marketing this platform to many people across the world that will be benefit from it.  You may think you don’t need this sharing platform, but ask yourself: in the future, if your children decide to emigrate across the globe, how will you make sure you keep in touch? What We Need & What You Get

PinEventz is looking for $50,000 for further development of its website. This funding will be directly going towards creating a mobile app, hosting the website and research development which is already in place.  We also need funding to continue with our marketing and SEO campaign, to ensure the people who could really benefit from our website know we exist.

You may think we are similar to an array of other social networking sites, such as Pinterest, Facebook and Instagram to state a few.  Image and video pin websites are currently used by over 30 million people worldwide.  However, PinEventz is different because it offers a secure way to share your images and videos of your family, and promotes active communication rather than passive exploration.  With exciting and unique features such as maps, timelines, stories and events, it is so easy to share a special occasion with friends and family.  The advantages of PinEventz also span to businesses and entrepreneurs who wish to showcase their work or corporate events

In the event that PinEventz does not reach the goal, the funds raised will still go towards the marketing and development of the company and website.  PinEventz will still have to be practical about the fund allocation.

Without raising these funds, PinEventz may not be able to continue offering the social network free of charge.  This is a last resort, as we really don’t want to take away a life enriching service for many people who connect with relatives through PinEventz.  Many businesses also rely on PinEventz to organise collaborative projects, and they may not be able to budget for the added associated costs.

Risks & Challenges

Obviously, being the next new social media platform on the web is a challenge in itself as there is so much competition.  Facebook is predominantly the leader of the pack; it was the most visited website on the internet in 2011.  However, it wasn’t always the premier international social network, as before Facebook was launched MySpace was the most popular way to connect.  This proves that any company with enough ambition can cause a stir, and we believe PinEventz is the next big thing in social media.  By implementing just a few marketing strategies, we can reach 1 billion users – but we need to reach our funding target to put these strategies in place.

Another risk to our business goals, setting aside competitors, is the threat of getting hacked.  Our customers’ accounts may get hacked, their security compromised and their personal information stolen.  However, this is the case for every single online account anyone holds, and even the biggest global companies have fallen victim to hackers.  PinEventz will obviously put security measures in place to prevent unauthorised access to the site, but we do not feel this risk should overshadow use of PinEventz.  As previously mentioned, every single email address, online banking or retail account or social media account can get hacked, and as an online platform PinEventz is no different – but we will do everything in our power to prevent it.
