Ixora Botanical Beauty is a natural skincare company that I started in 2012. The last 3 years has been a dream for me to do what I love. I am in the process of trying to upgrade my business, from labels to website and everything else just to give it more of a professional look. While I have pretty much done all the other things, the professional grade labels (like the ones you see in the store) are currently out of my budget. I am a one woman show currently and do not have the extra funds to complete the last portion of the upgrade to launch my new look. I would appreciate it if any of you would want to donate to the cause. Some of you have been here since the beginning or some might not know me at all, but I want you to know regardless, that this money will be the key to continuing down the path to pursuing my dreams on expanding my company in a myriad of ways.

The Labels & What I Need

I would like to explain a little bit more on how the costs of printing works. I am getting my labels done by a digital printing company. The labels are currently being designed and once designed, they will be sent to the label company who will then print them. How this company works is that in order to print even if it's just ONE label, there is an overhead of at least $315+. You can pick a certain size label and material and then how many versions (designs) of that size and material label you want and the quanity of that amount. Based on this critieria, is what they price your order with. I have currently 5 different size labels I'll be using and over 20 + versions of some of these sizes. This is what causes the price to be so high. It is cheaper to buy the labels all at once than separate it because the more you order at once, the cheaper it is.

We've been lucky and thankful the last few years to have been able to help all of the people who have had the same skin problems I've experienced. In addition to the labels, another portion of the funds will go towards:

It All Started with My Problem with Dry Skin and Eczema

In January 2012, Mercedes Edney launched a company that has since sold over $100,000 worth of products, sponsored several brands and events, and helped thousands of customers, in addition to their spouses and children, improve their skin. Ixora Botanical Beauty, a North Carolina-based small business, currently caters to customers across the globe. Though founded in Mercedes' home territory, St. Croix, U.S. Virgin Islands, she has since relocated Ixora's operations to Charlotte, N.C. where she is currently a member of a thriving small business community. Ixora is both Black and woman-owned, with Mercedes handling most of the daily operations, from manufacturing to shipping and handling.

After experiencing frustration with dry skin and pesky eczema, Mercedes set out to develop an affordable line of natural body butters, creams and scrubs that soothed skin conditions like eczema and psoriasis. Armed with two degrees, a B.S. in Chemical Engineering and a M.S. in Occupational Health & Safety Concentrating in Environmental Management, experience and knowledge of natural complexion remedies passed down through generations, Ixora Botanical Beauty was born.

The line has since expanded to include lip balms, body wash, cuticle cream, oil cleanser and more, with over 30 fragrances to choose from. Ixora has been featured on dozens of blogs with rave reviews and continues to attract a growing customer base in Charlotte and beyond.
