EmpowHer Institute’s mission is to empower marginalized teen girls by helping them gain the skills necessary through education, training and mentorship to seek fulfilling and productive lives.
It's that time of year again. Everyone is gearing up to go back to school. EmpowHer Institute needs your help raising funds to create STEAM careers for young women.

'I remember when I was a teenager and even in college, I never thought that I was really smart enough to get a job in technology. Fortunately, I overcame that fear and lack of confidence enough to get a job out of college with IBM. This fear is still rampant 30 years later with our teen girls and today we don’t have enough girls pursuing interest in science, technology, engineering, arts and math (STEAM). We are changing those attitudes of the girls we touch. ' -Betty LaMarr
Here is how our students felt on her first day in our STEAM Program:
“My first day in class I was terrified that this class, animation production, would be difficult. It was at first because you had to remember the rules, and procedures. However, I got the hang of it. We had to animate a character, I chose this little girl. I thought it'll be easy. However, it was not. At the end, I figured it out. Always try something new because you'll never know if you like it until you try.' -Monica Muniz - 8th Grade
How You Can Help Girls Like Monica?

- Teacher's Assistant--- $50 day
'I learned that with patience I can learn a lot. I usually like to do things really quick, but there are things in the world that need patience. I accomplished something I thought was impossible and I accomplished it with patience. I made a music track and I also got to realize that I do have lots of creativity and I have big ideas too. This was the best experience someone can ever have. If I have an opportunity to go again I would love to go.' -Daphne Lima - 8th Grade
