It is with profound respect and expectation that I JAMILU GWARZALA DAN-MUTUM seek your assistance to attend the third Youth Empowerment Forum. The forum is scheduled for February 19 – 24, 2019 to be hosted in Addis Ababa, Ethiopia. AFRIKA YOUTH MOVEMENT (AYM) is a Pan-African action-oriented social movement that strives for the development, active participation and leadership of African youth in the fight for peace and social justice. The movement has over 5,000 active young Africans from 40 countries who aim to change the reality of Africa by generating together creative solutions. This forum will bring together over 250 young delegates from every corner of the continent to question and critically address global issues; most importantly examine the role of the youth in creating the Africa We Want under the theme “The SDGs and Agenda 2063: The role of the African Youth”. This year AFRIKA YOUTH MOVEMENT (AYM) will take its actions a step further and move the conversation from the international and national levels to local and grassroots communities all over the continent. The convening will build from the challenges and opportunities that was faced in 2018 and utilize the following youth focused intersectional actions between the SDGS and Agenda 2063 and discuss how we can scale these solutions started in 2018. JAMILU GWARZALA DAN-MUTUM is one of the selected delegates representing NIGERIA for his track record in youth Activism and Advocacy in NIGERIA. We therefore deem it a pleasure to have him share his experiences and contribute towards the theme of the forum and help streamline the youth involvement in the implementation of the SDGs and Agenda 2063.
