We know that children learn best when in a complex and vibrant environment, and when they are afforded the freedom of movement, choice and fresh air that the forest allows for. And so we piloted our Forest School program this fall at The Brooklyn New School. At Forest School - Pre-K visits Prospect Park Wednesdays as our forest "classroom." This is a day that has immediately become beloved by children, teachers and parents alike!

We are inspired by the Preschools in Sweden that conduct themselves outdoors in all kinds of weather. They are able to do this because of the high quality water proof suits that they dress the children and teachers in. Children are warm and dry as they play and learn outside in every kind of weather!

The Pre-K classes are requesting $3000 to purchase two class sets of full body Swedish rain gear for the children. These suits would remain with the Pre-K classes for years to come and support the development and success of the flourishing Forest School curriculum now and into the future.
